WELCOME

I am a stay at home mom who is fed up with spending a large portion of income on grocery bills. It is my job, according to God, to be a good help mate for my husband. I am trying to live up to my job description. I am starting a journey into the grocery coupon world and invite you to come with me. I have never used coupons for grocery shopping and as of January 1st 2008 I am diving in. I will be using http://www.thegrocerygame/ , http://www.moneysavingmom.com and the http://www.couponmom.com/ website to guide me on how to save money. I am going to treat this adventure as a part time job and put in the hours necessary to make it work. I am excited and nervous to get started.

I Tried CVS this week

I tried CVS today. I have stayed away because I did not want to deal with the ECB's and figuring up the deals. Every week I decide to try CVS but every week I talk myself out of it.

I have found that some of the stuff is out when I get to the store and I do not have the brain power to or time to work a new deal in the store. It all seemed more of a hassle than a money saver. Anyway today I went, mostly because my hubby needed something and was on me to go. I went with coupons and list in hand to try and work some deals. I did pretty good but I feel like I did terrible. Here is what I got.

1st Transaction

2 bottles of Citracal (needed) B1G1 50% off. The 1st one was $12.99 the 2nd one $6.50 Then I had 2 $1 off coupons.

1 bottle of Listerine Smart rinse for kids $2.99 I had $1 coupon

2 Aquafresh trial size whitening toothpaste free with coupons

I also had a $3 off of $15 purchase

My 2nd transaction

1 Soleil razor they are $5.99. I had a coupon for $2 off

1 Soleil cartridge refills $5.99 I had $2 coupon

1 Nivea shave gel $4.99 I had $2 coupon

1 CVS brand spray hand sanitizer free with CVS coupon

1 Listerine Smart Rinse for kids $2.99 I had 1-$1 coupon

I had one $3 off of $15 purchase

I had one free hand sanitizer with a $10 purchase coupon

I had 2 transactions and one was $18 and the other was $7. I put my receipts into the mail without copying for my rebates so I don't have the exact info.

Total out of pocket was $24

ECB's back $11.98

Mail In Rebates (MIR) $5.98 (Listerine rebates are $2.99 each)

So really I got $17.96 back from the $24
