WELCOME

I am a stay at home mom who is fed up with spending a large portion of income on grocery bills. It is my job, according to God, to be a good help mate for my husband. I am trying to live up to my job description. I am starting a journey into the grocery coupon world and invite you to come with me. I have never used coupons for grocery shopping and as of January 1st 2008 I am diving in. I will be using http://www.thegrocerygame/ , http://www.moneysavingmom.com and the http://www.couponmom.com/ website to guide me on how to save money. I am going to treat this adventure as a part time job and put in the hours necessary to make it work. I am excited and nervous to get started.

UMMM, I think I Did Good at CVS This Week

Yeah, I think I did pretty good at CVS this week. Read on and leave me a comment if you agree.

I will be sharing my deals on money saving mom this week.
For Your Information- I checked with CVS tonight about buying a CVS gift card with my ECB's and it is not allowed. The queen of CVS, Sherri, came up with the idea of getting a gift card and then paying all out of pocket CVS transactions with the gift card. Of course we are trying to figure out how to work a deal to get one.
Tonight I did 4 transactions. The receipts were flying every which way. I used previous earned ECB's on all my transactions tonight.

1st transaction
4 Nivea Men shave gels 2.99 ea
1 Listerine Smart Rinse mouthwash 3.49ea
1 CVS sheer bandaids (the 60ct works for the 1.99 ecbs its advertised as 40ct) 1.99
**coupons used
2-$2 Nivea
1-$1 off 2 Nivea
$1 Listerine
$3 off $15 purchase
---Total OOP .57

2nd Transaction
1 Schick Quattro razor 9.49ea
1 Oral B Crossaction 2 pack toothbrush 6.99
**coupons used
$3 off $15 purchase
$3 Schick razor
---Total OOP .67

3rd Transaction
4-12 pack of Diet Coke 4/$11
1 Oral B 2 pack toothbrushes 6.99
1 CVS bandaids 1.99
**coupons used
$3 off $15 purchase
---Total OOP .77

4th Transaction
Listerine Smart Rinse 3.49
2 big bags of M & M 5.99 each
**coupons used
$1 Listerine
$3 off $15 purchase
--Total OOP $1.78

I have a total of $20.96 to use for next time. Yay! I LOVE CVS!

I also found a new CVS to use that is fully stocked and really nice, shhh it's my secret.

You did great!!!! If you go
afullcup dot com there is a CVS forum with a post on rolling your ECBs to gift cards. The way I understand it is your manufacturer's coupons have to be more than the value of the gift card. You give your coupons to the cashier in the order of x/xx, ECBs, and then manufacturer coupons. I am not brave enough to try it.

A new CVS? Where on earth could that be? Hmmm....

Also, hey, if I could be so sweet to ask...could you list the amounts of ECB's used for each transaction and the ones earned?

It really helps me out to know that I can do it too!

Maybe the kids and I will have to take a ride tomorrow....

Hi there. I know it is Aug 1st and I am just getting around to reading this now, but I am new to the whole couponing experience. So I am reading this blog starting from the beginning posts in January, and I am only up to June now. I am wondering. ON this post, June 9, I noticed that you had, I think it was 4 different transactions. Why do you do 4, and not just one big one? I am trying to figure out the whole CVS situation. Thanks!
